What is a zine?
A zine (pronounced like a shortened form of “magazine”) is a collection of artwork and fanfiction, brought together in one collected work to celebrate a media or theme.What are the zine specifications?
This zine is an A5 sized SFW zine. We are a physical project with physical merchandise!Are AUs allowed?
To maintain theme clarity, we wish to keep our zine content set in the canon BNHA universe. That said, small "easter egg" references to existing AUs such as the Fantasy AU (i.e. Dragon Kirishima plush displayed in Bakugou's room/Kiribaku playing fantasy videogame with their respective avatars) are encouraged!Are spoilers allowed?
Yes, spoilers are allowed.What kind of content will be featured in the zine?
Our zine will focus on milestones in Kiribaku's journey from strangers to best friends to lovers (i.e. first time hanging out outside of school, first kiss, first date, first vacation together, first time holding hands, first time using given names, etc)! We hope to include many fan favorite Kiribaku references, such as Kamino arc, matching Halloween costumes, and more!Are we allowed to showcase characters other than Kirishima and Bakugou?
Yes, so long as Kiribaku remains the focus!How will contributors be compensated?
At minimum, we will provide contributors with a digital copy of our zine. Should sales allow, we aim to provide contributors with a free full bundle. Additional profits after full physical bundle compensation, if any, will be split evenly amongst mods and contributors.Who is allowed to apply?
Applicants must be 18 years or older to apply.Is a Discord account required to participate?
Discord is our key method of communication. If you do not have a Discord account and wish to participate, you will be expected to create one.Do I need previous zine experience to apply?
Absolutely not! Everyone starts somewhere, and we welcome newcomers to apply.Can I apply for more than one position?

Application GuidelinesAll applicants must be 18+ at the time of filling out a contributor application. Our applications run from January 4 to February 5, 2025.You're welcome to apply for more than one role, but you may only be accepted for one of them unless a moderator has otherwise reached out regarding you taking on an additional role. In other words, you will not automatically be volunteering to take on an increased workload by applying to more than one position!General guidelines for ALL applicants, regardless of role:
♡ Please submit three main samples for your applications. These should best reflect the quality of work you wish to bring to the zine.
♡ Samples submitted as Google Drive links are preferred. Make sure sharing permissions are on!
♡ Please provide a portfolio containing a larger body of works. Your three samples may be in this portfolio as well, but we do ask for additional works to be shared.
♡ As this project is SFW, we prefer SFW samples. If you'd like to submit a NSFW sample, though, please be sure to tag the piece as such. Triggers should also be tagged!Contributor expectations by role:Page & Comic Artists
Page artists are expected to create either 1 full-page illustration or a spread (2 pages) with color and a background.Comic artists are expected to create at least one comic (up to 4 pages) with color and a proper setting or background. Comic artists may also create two or more "mini" comics adding up to 4 pages total if desired.♡ If you are applying as a comic artist, please include at least one comic sample.
♡ BNHA samples are not required but are highly encouraged. Kirishima and/or Bakugou pieces are especially appreciated.Spot Artists
Spot artists are expected to create a minimum of 3 mini "spot" illustrations to pair with a written work featured in this zine. Spot artists will be assigned to writers at the mods' discretion.♡ Application samples are not required to have backgrounds.
♡ We are open to exploring many types of spot art! These can be simple backgroundless illustrations, vignette illustrations, decorative banners/borders, etc! Spot art examples will be provided in our Discord server for inspirational purposes.
♡ BNHA samples are not required but are highly encouraged. Kirishima and/or Bakugou pieces are especially appreciated.Merch Artists
Merch artists are expected to create 2-3 unique merch pieces for this zine. We will do our best to accommodate contributor preferences for merch types, but decisions will ultimately be up to our mods' discretion.♡ Merch-specific samples are not required, but highly encouraged. Physical merch proofs are more than welcome if you have them!
♡ BNHA samples are not required but are highly encouraged. Kirishima and/or Bakugou pieces are especially appreciated.Writers
Writers are expected to write 1 full-length fanfiction (2k-3k words) based on a Kiribaku relationship milestone.♡ Please submit three samples (1k-3k words) for your applications.
♡ 1 of 3 main samples must be a complete, standalone piece within our word count requirements.
♡ At least 1 BNHA sample is required. Bakugou and/or Kirishima pieces are not required, but highly encouraged for characterization purposes. Ship dynamic pieces are especially appreciated.
